I was recently contracted by the American Dutch Harness Horse Association to photograph a mare at an Amish farm in IL. They were under a tight production schedule and we pretty much had to pick a date and make it work -- regardless of weather and condition of horses. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with us too much as it started raining about 30 minutes after I got there. And despite what the ADHHA had wanted (action shots) the horses they wanted photos of had both thrown shoes. Despite all this, the owners were generous with their time and with me hauling equipment around their farm. The rain came and went, and we were able to get a few shots that worked for the Association. They ended up using an image for the cover and a few of the farm shots for their spread on these breeders.
I also got to use my architectural photography skills as I photographed their farm and the interior of their horse barn.
